Five Bullet Points
Just five bullet points that kept me sane the past weekend (also a list of free things I would love to remember):
- Beautiful summer clouds.
- Long phone calls and relevant BBM messages.
- Not blaming yourself for relationships that did and will not work out.
- Hanging out with my Mount Analogue boys on a quiet Sunday.
- The effort someone makes to bring me home safe after a crazy night at Terno/the feeling of being taken care of.
Hello!
That Life Trip
I’m the kind of person who usually gets tired of routine. I’m always in for something new and repetition in life is not really my cup of tea. But when redundancy could not be avoided, then a break is all I need.
The chaos of work, gigs, family, friends, chores, and personal relationships took me restless for the last two weeks. With this, I decided to take a sole trip back to our hometown San Jose. I also took advantage of the fact that I was on a four-day leave from work.
This is not the kind of trip that changes ones life but it sure was refreshing! The calmness I get every time I visit San Jose is something I wouldn’t mind having every day. It’s hard to explain but that city is an upper of sorts. Four to six hours of travel up north is very worth it. (Plus I love provincial bus rides!)
Anyway, I’ll let the photos do the talking! I was only able to take a few from that trusty Blackberry I own so yeah, here they are!

Provincial bus ticket and my chipped nail polish. (P.S. It's fun to count the amount of your ticket in holes)
Happy 8th birthday, Up Dharma Down!
It’s amazing to know that the band who I have been following for 7 years turns 8 today. And it’s not all about being a fan since it’s also about friendship, taste, and trust.
I’ve met some of my best friends through this band. I have found and lost love through them, too. It’s just a wonderful feeling to know these people for so long and I definitely have no regrets in terms of anything.
The teenage takas-to-gigs, the sermons I got from my Mom for staying out late, all the money I’ve spent for gig entrances – these are actually nothing compared to what I’ve earned which are good music, friendship, and happiness!
Two more years to a decade! Thank you and I love you, UDD!
Dark Chocolate
What always happens: Me knowing a guy at his worst, mending his mistakes, falling for him, being with him then eventually breaking up with him when he’s at his best.
And that’s why now, I have doubts in my head and a fear of securing myself into a relationship. It’s not about trust or love, it’s about timing. And timing sucks. And being too scared to take risks while learning timing sucks.
Life per se cannot depend on fate – like how that old song goes “Whatever will be, will be.” Nope. Because in time, what happens in life is basically our own doings and/or doings by other people who we have allowed to take and make such actions in our lives. Fate is sweet, yes. But having the ability to twist it might just make things sweeter.
I know I’m not heading to a clear point with this entry. It’s just that there are things I would like to fix and would love to happen but could not. And I just can’t wait for fate because time is a bitch, and time can do anything to fail you.
Will I wait or will I do something? Will I push things the way I want them to or will I let them occur?
These are the questions in which its answers only lie after the end. And the end could be sweet, sour, or bitter. Life takes its pick.
SG
Spent three days and two nights in Singapore for Laneway Festival and well, some leisure. It was my first international trip and it was pretty fun and worth it. Here are some photos I took using my brother’s digital camera. (I was supposed to bring the Nikon D90 but my luggage was getting too heavy that I decided to ditch it. It was cool, though, the digital camera still worked well for me.)
My first photo taken in Singapore. SG’s SMRT is a very convenient way of transport. It makes everything in Singapore twice as near! Was on my way to Tanah Merah exchange this time then on another train going to Lavender where our hostel, Drop Inn, is.
Finally, the highlight of my trip, Laneway! Here’s my left hand holding a Laneway programme under the scorching sun. Singapore’s weather is basically the same as the Philippines except that their sun sets at around 8pm. Makes you crazy to think that kinder students gets dismissed at 7pm! Haha. Here are more photos of our feet killing and energy inducing Laneway experience!

Luis and Shine checking out the line-up, thinking of an artist(s) we could skip for food/rest/drinks/shade.
Below are some photos of the Laneway artists that I saw. I don’t have photos of every artist because a.) I was too far b.) I was tired and lazy c.) the camera was acting crappy or d.) I just wanted to watch and dance. Anyway, bands I enjoyed the most were Yuck, Girls, The Drums, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Toro Y Moi, Feist and M83!

The Drums!!! Watching them felt so surreal. Johnny's energy was infectious and they sounded really good live!

And the show ender, M83. My only photo of them (forgiveness, it's an LCD screen cap) but that tells I really enjoyed! Their set was epic and made every single person there to stand up and dance!
Laneway ended at around 1am and man, were we tired! It was an awesome experience all in all and I would love to be a part of it again come 2013.
Got a cab (trivia: cabs charge you an additional 50% from your meter reading after midnight) with Shine and met Shinji and Erwin who were drinking outside Drop Inn. Had a few sips, some stories, several tweets, a shower and ta-da, bed! (P.S. The aircon was really cold.)
Here’s Day 2!

My Laneway strap. Too tough to remove I had to knock next door and borrow a scissor to be able to cut it.
Had some tofu and chicken at Bugis Junction and met a Filipina. It was pretty funny because we were looking around food in this stall and she suddenly said “Ano po?” with a very charming smile. We all just laughed and had some chit-chat. Didn’t get her name but she said that she’s from Fairview.
